Karen Akers, 61, of Winterset died February 21, 2018 at Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston.

Karen was born December 18, 1956 to Earbie Lee and Rosetta (Miller) Akers. At the age of nine she got a new dad, Bob Houseman whom she loved dearly. Karen had two children, Jessie and Raymond.

Karen is survived by her son, Raymond ‘Nick’ (Jennifer) England; a grandson, Alexander England; her siblings, Allen (Patty) Akers, Annette (Bill) Dillinger, Connie (Dave) Baker, Gene Akers, Rick (Michelle) Houseman, Nick (Linda) Houseman, LuAnn Goodell, Marty McCauley, and dear, dear friend, Glenn York, many nieces, nephews and her dog, Sugar.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessie; parents, Rossetta and Bob Houseman, Earbie Lee Akers; a brother, Marty Houseman.
