Claire Wight, 82, a resident of Murray, died at the Clarke County Public Hospital in Osceola on Saturday, November 14. Services were held from the Murray United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Hampton officiating at the 1:30 p.m. rites. Interment was in the Lorimor Cemetery.
Claire Wight was born September 27, 1899, in Madison County, son of Frank E. Wight and Blanche V. Donaldson Wight. He was married to Helen Bishop, February 9, 1921 in Madison County. One daughter was born to this union.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Marilyn Walker, a brother, Gayle of Rock Island, Illinois, a sister, Nellie Gillespie, of Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral arrangements were made by Watts Lindsay Funeral Home in Murray.
