Dwight Eckstein

Dwight James Eckstein, 60, of Peru, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 11, 2018, from 1 to 4 PM at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites (1304 N. 4th Ave., Winterset, Iowa).

Dwight was born to James and Darlene (Osborn) Eckstein on March 25, 1957 in Winterset, IA. He was united in marriage to Michelle Hart of Winterset on June 1, 1979. To this union were born two children.

Dwight worked for 29 years at Eagle Iron Works in Des Moines until the plant closed. Most recently he worked at Cobett Company of Peru where he was treated like family. Dwight enjoyed being with his family, the outdoors and taking care of his lawn.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Michelle; children, Angelina of Peru and Nicholas of DeSoto; mother, Darlene Eckstein of Winterset; sisters, Linda (Mori) Sorenson of Urbandale and Jeanie (Bob) Stephens of Winterset; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Eckstein.

Dwight Eckstein, Peru

Dwight Eckstein, 60, of Peru, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Dwight will be cremated and will have a celebration of life at a later date.

Dwight James Eckstein was born March 25, 1957, the son of James Wilbur and Darlene Maxine (Osborn) Eckstein. Dwight was born and raised in Madison County. He graduated Winterset High School in 1976. He was joined in marriage to Michelle Hart on June 1, 1979

Dwight worked as an electrical maintenance mechanic at Eagle Iron Works in Des Moines for 29 years in, and more recently Cobett Company of East Peru.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle; two children, Angelina Lynn of East Peru and Nicholas James of DeSoto; his mother, Maxine; and two sisters: Linda (Mori) Sorenson of Urbandale and Jeanie and Bob (Stephens) of Winterset.
