WILLIAM DEVINE

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Westover Funeral Home for William Floyd Devine, 87, of 3719 Cottage Grove Ave., who died Wednesday at Northwest Community Hospital of a heart ailment. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.

Born near Winterset, Mr. Devine lived most of his life in Des Moines. He was a retired Des Moines city fireman. He was a member of the First Brethren Church and the Retired Fireman’s Association.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; a son, Galyn of Carlisle; three daughters, Mrs. Florence Mills and Mrs. Audrey Willcox, bot of Des Moines, and Mrs. Opal Knipfer of Sioux City; two brothers Orlie and Aubrey, both in California; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the Grace United Methodist Church of First Free Methodist Church.
