Page 6, Columns 5 & 6Clara Kirk Camp, daughter of Benjamin and Jane White Kirk was born in Mumby Lincolnshire, England, February 23, 1887 and departed this life Sunday, October 17, 1971, at the age of 84 years.
She came with her family to America at the age of 2, and lived her entire life in Clarke and Madison county, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Ephraim J. Camp on September 20, 1911 at the home of her parents near Lorimor. Six children were born to this union.
Clara was a charter member of the Madison Chapel Church of Christ until it closed then transferred her membership to the Murray Church of Christ, which she attended as long as her health permitted.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother and always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Eph; sons: Clifford and Ben; her parents; four brothers, Frank, Joe, John, and George; four sisters, Florence Iiams, Lizzie Simmerman, Olive Simmerman, and Mary Kirk.
Surviving relatives are sons: Leonard of Osceola and Clell of Peru; daughters, Burla Stephenson of Des Moines, and Waunita Siefkas of Murray; daughters-in-law, Ruth and Evelyn; sons-in-law, Harold Stephenson and Darrell Siefkas. Also nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, White and wife, Wilma of Bull Shoals, Arkansas and Hiram and wife, Veda of Peru; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Thurman of Las Vegas, Nevada and Susie Short and husband, Vern of Winterset; three sisters-in-law, Susie, Estella, and Elaine Kirk; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
