Mrs. C. G. Clifton Succumbs to a Long Illness

Vinnie Ream Ellis was born in Madison county, Iowa, May 17, 1873, and died at her home in Clarke county, Iowa, November 3, 1904, aged thirty-one years, five months and seven days. She had been sick with consumption the past three years.

She was united in marriage to Charles G. Clifton October 18, 1894. To this union was born three children—two sons and a daughter.

She was converted at the age of fourteen and joined the Friends church of which she was a faithful and consistent member. On removing to Clarke county in 1902 she united with the M. P. church, of which she was a member at the time of her death. She was a loving and faithful wife, a tender and affectionate mother, a kind and dutiful daughter and a devoted sister.

She leaves to mourn her loss, the bereaved husband, three children, father, mother, brother, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends.

She bore her long illness with Christian fortitude and, though endeared to her family, she so often expressed her willingness to go and be with her Heavenly Father who “doeth all things well.”

The funeral services were held at the Frame church Saturday at 11 a.m., in charge of Rev. Dillavou. A large assembly of friends were present to pay the last tribute of respect to the memory of a beloved neighbor and friend. Interment was made in the Osceola cemetery.
