Francis Marion Dennis was born in the State of Ohio September 21, 1875 and died at the Horton Nursing Home at Winterset, Sept. 12, 1956, had he lived the remaining 9 days, he would have reached the age of 81 years.

At one time he made his home in Osceola, from here he spent some time at Clarinda. During the past few years he has been a resident of the Horton Nursing Home.

His wife Rosa was deceased in 1920. He leaves five children, Mrs. Veda Kitter, Sheridan, Missouri; Mrs. Virgil Whitaker, Ridgway, Missouri; and three sons, Ellis, Oscar, and Harvey. The addresses of the three sons are unknown.

The body was brought to the Miller Funeral Home and remained there until Saturday, September 15, when burial was made. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Azel Smith.
