Margaret E. Guthrie, Norwalk

Margaret E Guthrie, 90, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

Margaret was born December 6, 1927 in Madison County to Clifford and Gertrude De Bok Harrell. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1946 and married Keith M. Guthrie on February 18, 1949 who preceded her in death in May 1988.

Margret was a member of the Martensdale Community Church. She retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1986 after 33 years of service. Margaret will be missed by her children: Kathy (Chuck) Van Dike, Bonnie Jones, and Tom Guthrie as well as grandchildren; Erica(Wes) Dethrow, Adam (Lindy) Van Dike, Ryan Jones, Meagan (Nathan) Jondle, Eric (Chrissy) Jones, Stephanie Jones, Clayton (Kari) Guthrie, Justin (Jessica) Guthrie. Along with 14 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Martensdale Community Church Highway 28 on Saturday January 20th at 11 AM, 641-764-249.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the Martensdale Community Church or the Norwalk Park and Recreation Department.

Margaret Guthrie, Norwalk

Margaret Guthrie, 90, of Norwalk died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 20, at Martensdale Community Church.

Margaret Elizabeth Harrell was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Madison County to Clifford and Gertrude (DeBok) Harrell. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1946, and married Keith M. Guthrie on Feb. 18, 1949. Margaret retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1986 after 33 years of service. Margaret was a member of the Martensdale Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; brothers, Delbert Harrell, Junior Harrell and Bob Harrell; and sisters, Alma Duff and Zelma Libby.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Chuck) Van Dike, Bonnie Jones and Tom Guthrie of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jackie (Delbert) Trevillyan of Winterset.
