Clarence “Ike” Clifton, 59-year-old resident of Clarke county most of his life, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at his home in Osceola. He had suffered a heart ailment.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon in the Murray Church of Christ with Rev. W. W. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Murray cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Watts-Soll Funeral Home.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Clifton of Murray, he was born May 27, 1904, in Madison county. He had lived almost all of his life in the Murray and Osceola communities and was engaged in farm work.
He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Freda Simmerman of Truro, Mrs. Vonda Keys of Murray, Mrs. Marie Goodrich of Osceola; Mrs. Shirley Larison of Osage City, Kan., and Mrs. Neva Brown of Portland, Ore., and three brothers, Lewis of Grants Pass, Ore., Emmert of Escondido, Calif., and Chester of Stuart.
