Funeral services for Paul J. Neidt were held Wednesday, August 25, from the Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. He died in the Clarke County Hospital on August 23. The 11 a.m. services were conducted by the Rev. John Dale and interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery.

Paul J. Neidt was born on November 27, 1905, in Madison County, Iowa. He was the son of John and Stella Scott Neidt. He was educated in Clarke County and attended the Carpenter College of Embalming in St. Louis. He resided in Osceola his entire life and operated a funeral home as well as a plumbing and heating business.

He was affiliated with the Christian Church and was united in marriage to Bernice Swisher on August 14, 1926. Several years after his first wife’s death he was united in marriage to Evelyn Boylan Hukill. One child was born to the first union.

Survivors include: wife, Evelyn; daughter, Paula Horton and husband Robert, Osceola; grandchildren, Ricky, Vicky, and Darren; four sisters, Daisie Smith, Commanche, Iowa; Lois Lowe, Osceola; Iva Sinn, Des Moines; Marie Pierson, Leon; and brother, Marvin, Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by first wife in 1966; two sisters, Ruby Neidt and Opal Mullen and one brother, Dale.
