Monty McKeever, 78, of Winterset, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, with his family by his side.
Per his wishes, his body has been cremated and no services planned.
Monty Wallace, the son of Oliver Wallace and Doris (Travis) McKeever, was born July 7, 1939, in Iowa City. Monty was united in marriage with Betty (Ham) on January 11, 1958; to this union four children were born - a son and three daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry McKeever; one granddaughter, Brooke McKeever; two sons-in-law, Rodney Penick and Bill McVay; and one daughter-in-law, Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Mark (Ronda) McKeever of Winterset; daughters, Sherry (Carl) Burton of Van Wert, Tammy (Bob) Lincoln of Rural St. Charles and Pamela (Dave) Gamble of East Peru; two brothers, Jerry (June) McKeever and Robert (Debra) McKeever of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild (fifth generation).
