He was married to Miss Frances Foreman of Madison county in 1870. Five children, two boys and three girls, were born to this union. His wife and children survive him, also one brother, J. N. The funeral was held at his home six miles north of Osceola, conducted by Rev. A. White, pastor of the Christian church of Prairie Grove of which Mr. DeLong was a member. The remains were brought to Maple Hill Cemetery for burial.
Mr. DeLong was held in high esteem by all his acquaintances and great sympathy is felt for the bereaved family to whom the sadness of his death was a great shock.
