George W. Cornelison, 81-year-old life-time resident of Clarke and Madison counties, died Monday at the Clarke county hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon in the Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Clinton Wolf, pastor of the Osceola Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in the Murray cemetery.
Mr. Cornelison was born Aug. 18, 1881, in Madison county but had lived most of his life in the Murray and Osceola communities.
His survivors include two sons, Ernest of Osceola and Clifford of Oroville, Calif., and two daughters, Mrs. Marie Long of Redwood City, Calif., and Mrs. Pearl Baker of Lucas.

Page 3, Column 2George Washington Cornelison, the son of William and Cal Cornelison was born Aug. 18, 1881 in Madison county, and passed away Oct. 29, 1962, at the Clarke county hospital at the age of 81 years, 2 months, 11 days.
His mother passed away when he was five years old, after which he lived with his grandparents in and around Council Bluffs, until his late teens. He came to Union county and lived the rest of his life in Union and Clarke counties.
He was united in marriage to Rebecca Kalar of Afton, Nov. 16, 1904 at Lorimor. To this union four children were born, Mrs. Marie Long of Redwood City, Calif.; Ernest of Osceola, Clifford of Oroville, Calif.; and Mrs. Pearl Baker of Lucas. He is survived by his four children, two daughters-in-laws, Mrs. Doris Cornelison of Oroville, Calif.; Mrs. Millie Cornelison of Osceola; two sons-in-laws, James Long of Redwood City, Calif.; and Raymond Baker of Lucas; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, 3 half-sisters and 2 half-brothers.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, two brothers, four grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
To know him was to love him, he was a friend to everyone he knew and was loved by all. His cheerful “Hello” will be missed by many, old and young.
Services were held at the Miller Funeral Home on Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clinton D. Wolf of the Christian Church officiating. Music by Emil Rindershacher and Amy Ruth Harlan. Pallbearers were Lloyd Karns, John Welcher, Emary Kalkas, Leonard Saddoris, Clarence Stephenson, and Chester Wilkins. Interment at the Murray cemetery.
