Mrs. Nora Banker, who had a host of friends in this city, passed away last Friday afternoon in Hollywood, California after suffering a stroke earlier in the week. Her son, Sheldon of this city flew out there upon receiving word of her illness, arriving on Thursday evening.
Mrs. Banker left by plane on Monday for Hollywood, after receiving word of her mother-in-law’s death. Funeral services were held there on Wednesday with burial in Forest Lawn cemetery. In addition to her son, Mrs. Banker is survived by her daughter, Bea with whom she made her home.
Before going to California, Mrs. Banker was an active member of this community for many years and her splendid personality, keen wit and avid interest in all civic and community problems endeared her to her host of friends. She was active in club and lodge work when a resident here and was a Past Matron of the local Chapter of the Eastern Star. She spent two months here this winter renewing acquaintances with her old friends and was the guest of honor at a number of affairs.
