August 26, 1969 - December 27, 2017Steph Utsler Carter, 48, of Winterset, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 27, 2017, while on vacation in Mexico with her family.
A visitation will be held 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, at the Jackson Building, 1146 W. Summit Street in Winterset, where her family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the Jackson Building, 1146 W. Summit Street in Winterset with burial to follow in the Winterset Cemetery.
A luncheon will be held at the New Bridge Church, 1305 W. Jefferson Street in Winterset following the burial.
Memorials may be directed to the family to benefit her children.
Stephanie Ann Utsler, daughter of Larry and Michelle (Weldon) Utsler, was born August 26, 1969, in Winterset, Iowa. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1987 and attended Northwest Missouri State University.
Steph worked for the Winterset School District as the Athletic Director’s Secretary. Prior to her work with the Winterset Schools, she worked with KVI in Des Moines.
Steph enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. She was a devoted mom who loved her kids and cherished time spent with them. She was an amazing person who touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Madi, Cade and Cael Carter of Winterset; her parents, Larry and Micki Utsler of Winterset; brothers, Steve (Angie) Utsler of Waukee and Corey (Valerie) Utsler of Winterset; niece and nephews, Max and Jack Utsler and Zach and Megan Childs-Utsler, extended family and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Anne Utsler and Ken and Bibi Weldon.
