Page 8, Column 3Alma K. Campbell was born in Madison County, Iowa, August 11, 1875, and early in her life her parents moved to Warren County, Iowa and here she spent the remainder of her life until her death on March 8th, 1913, aged 37 years, 7 months, and 7 days. January 13, 1895 she married Jacob W. Campbell and to them have been born seven children, two boys and one girl have gone before her to the mansions above, and two boys and two girls and the husband survive her.
About fifteen years ago she was converted and joined the Methodist church at Wick, remaining till her death steadfast and true to her faith, giving to the work of the church, being at her death an active member of the Ladies Aid society.
A week before her death, being then in the grip of pneumonia, she gave birth to the little daughter who will never know the intense mother love that caused that mother to pray so earnestly a few nights before her death, that is if it was God’s will, she might be spared to care for her babe and the other children, but if it was not God’s will that she might live, she had faith to say it is well and to trust him to care and provide for them.
At the funeral services at Wick March 10th, conducted by Rev. S. W. Lee of Wick and Rev. Arthur Eastman of Redding, Iowa, her former pastor, people came from far and near, till the church was filled far beyond its seating capacity, thus showing their esteem for the dead and their affection and sympathy for the surviving relatives.
