Edwin Albert Rhodes was born at Minden in Kearney county, Nebr. February 22, 1897. He was taken from this life by illness August 31, 1957 at the Madison County Memorial hospital at Winterset.

He was inducted into the service October 14, 1918 and discharged the same year.

Marriage vows were exchanged with Alice Reynolds, March 9, 1935 at Winterset. To this union were born two children, Airman 2nd Class Donald E. Rhodes of the United States Air Force and Dorothy Mae Rhodes of Milo.

Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes spent the greater part of their lives in Madison and Warren counties.

Mr. Rhodes was a member of the Pleasant Hill church near Steelville, Mo., having joined the church in 1952.

His father and mother preceded him in death and his is survived by his wife and children.

Funeral services were held from the Linn Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 3 with Rev. William Brown officiating. Interment was in Delmanutha cemetery near Casey with a military graveside service conducted by the Stuart American Legion.
