Page 6, Columns 3 & 4James Ralph Stegall, eldest son of Sol Stegall and Grace Cox was born July 11, 1907 in Madison county, Iowa. He grew to manhood in this community except for a few years on construction work during the war years.
On August 31, 1935 he was united in marriage to Meta Clausen of Dexter. To this union one daughter Patsy Lenore was born. In 1937 he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Dexter and was a faithful member.
On Sept. 24, 1947 he was killed in a train-car accident near Earlham. The years of his life numbered 40 years, 2 months and 14 days.
Besides his wife and daughter Patsy Lenore, aged 3, he leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Mrs. Grace Stegall of Earlham, three brothers, Glenn, Harry and Lloyd, all of Earlham, and one sister, Mrs. Goldie Clyde of Kentucky and a host of other relatives and friends.
