Eva Wetzel of Norwalk and formerly of Murray died Monday, December 21, at Norwalk Manor in Norwalk. Services were held from the Murray Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 23 with the Rev. Jim Hampton conducting the 1:30 p. m. rites. Interment was in Murray Cemetery.
Eva Wetzel was born August 22, 1887, in West Liberty, Iowa, daughter of Robert E. Phillips and Elizabeth Windlass Phillips. She married to Benjamin Allen on May 18, 1905 in East Peru, Iowa, who died in 1931. She was married to Brady M. Wetzel on December 6, 1933, who died in 1949.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Murray Methodist Church and of Prize Chapter, Order of Eastern Star of Murray.
Survivors include a son Edwin Allen of Murray, son Bernard Allen of Murray, Son Wendell Allen of Murray, step son, Clarence Wetzel of Murray, step son, Ross Wetzel of Murray, step son, Paul Wetzel of Murray, step daughter, Milan (Marie) Welker of Murray, brother Edwin G. Phillips of Des Moines, sister, Adah Lowe of Chadron, Nebraska, 11 grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one step son, one grandson and two husbands.
