Vera Grace, eldest daughter of Mamie Parsons and Daniel W. Doherty, was born May 27, 1899 in Milford, Iowa. She passed away May 17, 1977 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset, Iowa.

After the death of her parents, she made her home with her sister, Ruth Gamerdinger, and the late Dr. G. C. Gamerdinger until February, 1977 when she entered Madison Manor in Winterset. Vera attended the United Methodist Church while living in Stuart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Louise Bredimus and Zella Clark; one brother, Paul c. Doherty. She is survived by one brother, William of Waseca, Minnesota, and one sister, Ruth Gamerdinger, of Stuart, Iowa, many nieces and nephews.

Rev. Romaine Barber officiated at the funeral service on May 19, 1977 at the Link Funeral Home in Stuart, Iowa. Mrs. Paul Wilson provided the organ music selected by the family and caring for the floral tributes was Mrs. Florence Spiker. Serving as casket bearers were: John Doherty, Kenneth Doherty, Paul Doherty, Dan Doherty, James Doherty, and Richard Doherty. Interment was in South Oak Grove Cemetery, Stuart, Iowa.
