Page 2, Column 1Sylvester E. Mobley, son of Hezekiah and Orilda Mobley was born in Madison county on Nov. 3, 1887 and passed away in the Guthrie County Hospital on Aug. 25, 1960 at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 22 days. He was the 5th child in a family of 7 children, 4 of whom have preceded him in death.
He moved from Madison County to Guthrie County in 1910 and to his present home near Linden in 1935. He has been a farmer all of his life.
On April 29, 1916, he was united in marriage to Sylva A. Downing. To this union 3 children were born all of whom survive him.
He is survived by his wife Sylva at home and the three children, Harry and Harold of Panora and Ruby Waugh of Waukee. There are 4 grandchildren; also one brother, Ezra Mobley of Guthrie Center and one sister, Mrs. Nora Beeber of Panora, besides numerous nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.
