Mr. Lundgren was born Aug. 6, 1898, at Earlham, Iowa, a son of Nils and Elise Lundgren. His parents were natives of Sweden, and came to America in 1885. They lived in Iowa and Kansas, and came to Idaho around 1910, where they homesteaded at Downey. Rudy went to high school in Kansas.

Along with dry farming at Downey, he did plumbing, installed heating systems, and was a diesel mechanic.

Mr. Lundgren enjoyed the hobby of macramé and reciting ballads. Rudy (Papa) was loved by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Reynolds, of 37 years; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Bill Berry; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers, Morton, Carl and Emanuel, and three sisters, Eulalla, Emily and Lillie.
