Michael P. Linn's final fight ended Tuesday, October 24, 2017. A Memorial Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines with a celebration of his life at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial will be at a later date.
Mike was born December 3, 1952 in Des Moines to Paul and Mildred (Sheets) Linn. He was a proud graduate of Valley High School and went on to study geology at NW Missouri State. Mike worked for the Science Center of Iowa, which was his calling. He then worked in sales and became the Chamber of Commerce Director in Winterset. Mike was a humble man who loved the Cubs, animals, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He also served on the Valley Booster Club for many years.
Mike is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharyl; daughter, Erin; son, Sean; mother, Mildred; two sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul and brother, Jeffrey.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Habitat for Humanity or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
