Page 1, Column 1Death of P. M. McNamara
P. M. McNamara of Lincoln township, died on the morning of Jan. 27th at his home. He had been as well as usual and fell into a sleep from which he did not waken.
Mr. McNamara was reared in Union township on the farm of his father, the late Martin McNamara. For 20 years, he was a member of the firm of Wallace & McNamara, Des Moines plumbers. Fifteen years ago, he severed his connection with that firm and purchased the farm in Lincoln township, known as the Beerbower farm, where he has farmed successfully until his health failed nearly three years ago, following a stroke of paralysis.
He was president of the Winterset Savings bank in 1912, serving in that institution as director until his death.
He is survived by Mrs. McNamara, a daughter, Mary, and a son, Ernest; also two brothers, John and James; two sisters, Miss Mary of this county, and Mrs. Margaret Rogers of New Virginia.
Services were conducted at St. Joseph’s church on Monday morning by Rev. Luke Plunkett. The body was taken to Des Moines for burial in St. Ambrose cemetery.
