Page 6, Column 5Marguerite L. Hogan, age 74, died in Des Moines, Iowa at Mercy Hospital on Wednesday morning, September 14, 1983.
The daughter of Elzie and Alice (Lydon) Beaman, she was born in Madison County on August 28, 1909.
On February 21, 1938 she was united in marriage to Thomas L. Hogan at All Saints Church in Stuart, Iowa. To this union five children were born: Kay Hogan of Palo Alto, California, Jean (Mrs. Larry) Baudler of Fontanelle, Jo Ann Hogan, Joyce (Mrs. Leo) Tucker of Prescott, and Dick Hogan of Greenfield.
Marguerite and Thomas spent their entire life in Adair county, with the exception of seven years in Dalhart, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hogan, March 19, 1963, ad one daughter, JoAnn, March 29, 1970.
Marguerite is survived by her loving children, nine grandchildren, one brother, Clarence Beaman of Warsaw, Missouri, one sister, Kathleen, Mrs. Eugene Fagan of Adair and a host of other relatives and friends.
Marguerite was a kind and loving mother who will be missed by all who knew her.
Her funeral mass was celebrated on Friday, September 16, 1983 by Father C. J. Gaul at St. John’s Catholic Church in Greenfield. Altar boys were Bret Welch, Chuck Lampe and Ben Lampe. Mark Maeder, soloist, sand “Amazing Grace” and “Ave Maria”. He was accompanied by Mrs. Becky Stuva, organist.
Pallbearers were her grandsons: Curt Tucker, Chris Tucker, Brian Morrison, Nick Baudler, Bart Baudler and Steve Baudler. Grandchildren Lisa Morrison, Melissa Tucker and Joan Hogan were honorary bearers.
The floral committee consisted of Mrs. Evelyn Swift and Mrs. Mildred Eagan. Ushers were Gene Welch and Mike Tilley.
Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Stuart.
