Marian Frances, daughter of Clyde Marion and Frances M. (Arnold) Campbell was born October 22, 1911 near Earlham, Iowa and passed away September 2, 1984 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Her younger days were spent in the Dexter area, graduating from Dexter High School in 1930.

On December 23, 1936 she was united in marriage to Clyde E. Brooks of Dexter. They spent most of their married life on farms in the Menlo, Perry, and Stuart areas. They were blessed with four children.

Marian took an active part in things involving her family. She was a member of the First Congregational Church since moving into this area in 1946 and they both attended Sunday School and church. In later years she was an active member of the Women’s Fellowship. For many years she was a 4-H leader.

Besides her flower garden, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, paint embroidery and bead work. In later years she and Clyde enjoyed camping and traveling.

Her parents and two infant grandsons preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband Clyde; her children, Marvin and his wife Helen of Kent, Washington, Dorothy and her husband Ronald Stearns of Milo, Iowa, Mary and her husband Robert McClean of Omaha, Nebraska, and Virginia and her husband Thomas Midkiff of West Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Maurice of Coon Rapids, Iowa and Clyde M. of Clarinda, Iowa; two sisters, Evalyn Kingsbury of Raleigh, North Carolina and Katie Shaull of Pharr, Texas; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rev. George Thurman officiated at the funeral service on September 4, 1984 at the First Congregational Church in Stuart, Iowa. Organ music was provided by Gloria Mountsier. Caring for the floral tributes were Mrs. Ella Christensen and Mrs. Warren Carter. Casket bearers were Warren Carter, Lee Carter, Wilbur Carter, Dale Holmes, Paul Pieper and Bill Neal. Red McKee served as an honorary casket bearer. Interment was in the Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Iowa.
