Nancy Evelyn Hampton, daughter of Alfred and Sarah Kale, was born at Winterset, Iowa March 12, 1880 and departed this life on July 8, 1961 at the age of 81 years 3 months and 27 days.

She was untied with the Baptist Church at an early age and was a firm believer in her church and her bible.

She was united in marriage to Rollie E. Hampton on April 28, 1897 and they were privileged to live together 64 years the 28th of April this year.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband; 4 children-one son and 3 daughters, Leslie of Powhattan, Mrs. Ray (Eunice) Earhart of Hiawatha, Mrs. Walter (Ferne) Chase of Sabetha, and Mrs. Vernon (Zelda) Duckers of Netawaka; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Kale of Hiawatha, one sister, Maude Sinclair of Horton.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon July 10, 1961, at 2 p.m. at Meeks Chapel in Hiawatha by the Rev. Sam J. McCamman of Granada Brethren Church. Mrs. Harold Achten Jr. and Miss Norma Acker, accompanied by Mrs. John Warren, sang "God's Tomorrow" and "Sunrise Tomorrow." Mrs. McCamman, Mrs. Fred Kale and Mrs. George Laveenttz cared for the beautiful floral offering. The body bearers were nephews – Fred Kale, Kenneth Hampton of Willis, Robin Kale, Henry Tollefeson, George Lavertz of Horton, and Boyd Fridell of Robinson. Burial was at the Claytonville cemetery which is a short distance from her childhood home.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. Robert Moore of Fort Worth, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith of St. Joseph, Mo., Rev. and Mrs. Paul Davis of Osage City, Kansas.
