Dollie Shannon Dies, Des Moines

Miss Dollie Shannon, 86, of Des Moines, former Atlantic resident, died in Des Moines at 10:15 Friday evening. She was a sister of Mrs. H. F. Harris of Des Moines and an aunt of Mrs. H. O. Henningsen of Atlantic.

Miss Harris was a sister of E. T. Shannon, late Atlantic real estate dealer and the late Mrs. S. H. Kirk of Atlantic.

The remains are at the Roland funeral home. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Dolly Shannon Services Today

Services for Miss Dolly Shannon, 85, of 1126 Nineteenth st., will be at 3 p.m. today at Atlantic; burial will be there also.

Miss Shannon died here Friday after suffering a series of strokes. She was born in Atlantic and had lived in Des Moines since 1910. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Hal, of Tucson, Ariz., and a sister, Mrs. H. F. Harris, with whom she had made her home here.

Funeral Notice For Dolly Shannon

The Rev. Roy D. Strong officiated at graveside services at the Atlantic cemetery Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock for Miss Dolly Shannon, 86, who died in Des Moines Friday from a stoke after an illness of eight years. She was a native of Atlantic, the daughter of Samuel E. and Mary E. Shannon and had lived in Des Moines since 1910.
