Charles Klein was born in Des Moines county, Iowa, March 18, 1865 and passed away at his home in Denver, Colorado, May 6, 1944.

He was united in marriage with Virginia Bell in Murray, Iowa, who preceded him in death about 36 years ago. To this union were born four children: Frank of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Helen Woodward, of Colorado Springs, Colo., survive; two preceded him in death, one in infancy and the other, Dorothy, was killed in a railway accident Sept. 15, 1926.

Mr. Klein was in the hardware business for a number of years in Murray and Barney, Iowa. About 40 years ago he sold his business and moved to Colorado. The last 5 years of his life were spent in Denver.

He was of a family of ten children, only four of whom survive, three sisters, Mrs. R. J. Dutton, of Denver, Colo., Mrs. C. O. Dutton, Truro, Iowa, and Miss Jennie Klein, Murray, Iowa and one brother, Herman H. Klein of Murray, Iowa.

He leaves to mourn his passing his two children, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a good man, honest in his dealings and well liked by all who knew him.

Services were conducted from the Watts Funeral Home May 11, 1944, with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Burial was in the Union cemetery, Watts Funeral Service in charge.
