William H. Weeks, who formerly lived in this county, and was a son of Jim Weeks, of the Macksurg neighborhood, died Monday, October 10th, at Palmer, Nebraska. He is survived by five half-sisters, three of whom reside in Madison county: Mrs. George Jickling, Mrs. Warren Rippey and Mrs. Bess Emerson.
Funeral services for William H. Weeks, who passed away Saturday, October 8th, at his home in Palmer, were conducted by Rev E. H. Tipton, at the Palmer Methodist church on Monday, October 10th. Interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery at Palmer.
William H. Weeks was born at Peoria, Illinois, September 2, 1860. He passed away at his home in Palmer, Neraska, October 8, 1927, aged 67 years, 1 month and 6 days. When a small boy he emigrated with his parents to Iowa. September 2, 1881, he came to Nance county, Nebraska, crossing the river near Fullerton the day he was 21. In 1888 he was united in marriage to Miss Abbie J. Miller. They made their home in Nance county until 1917, when they moved to Palmer, where they resided up to the present time.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, one son, Clarence, and his family, five sisters and many other relatives. His mother died when he was a small boy and his father and brothers passed away a few years ago, he being the last of the family excepting his half sisters.
Mr. Weeks was a man of the highest character and of a very jolly disposition and highly respected by all who knew him. His friends were very numerous and his presence will be missed by them all.
