MARGERY GRODT

Margery F. Grodt passed away peacefully on August 28, 2017 under the care of Hospice of the Midwest. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Margery graduated from Lorimor High School in 1940, and was the last survivor of her graduating class. She loved to shop, and as a result, found the perfect occupation as a cosmetic buyer for Younkers where she was employed for 25 years. When she wasn’t working behind the beauty counter, she held another full-time job as the mother of 4 children. She was very involved in her kids’ lives, by being an active PTA member and a cub scouts Den Mother. She also loved to bake cookies and would share them with everyone. Her baking would fill the house with hungry children from all over the neighborhood. Family was very important to Margery, and they will miss her dearly.

Left to cherish her memory include her brother: Robert Simon; children: Richard (Mary Kay) Grodt, Don (Delia) Grodt, Linda (John) Berg, and David (Vicki) Grodt; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: John G. Grodt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Hospice of the Midwest.
