Forrest McCuen, 83, of Winterset died Monday, September 4, 2017, at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset.

As per his wishes, his body has been donated to the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and there will be no services.

Memorials in his name may be directed to the family for a later designation.

Forrest Allen McCuen was born in Des Moines on November 7, 1934, to Lawrence and Janice (Smith) McCuen. His marriage to Jacqueline Shephard took place on August 20, 1970.

Forrest worked as a carpet installer for many years. He also drove truck for Des Moines Asphalt and he farmed. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Forrest was not one to join groups or clubs but was more private, enjoying time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie McCuen of Winterset; children, Larry McCuen of Virginia, Mark (Stacy) Jackson of Waukee, Kevin Jackson of Macksburg, Kim Crase of Winterset, Bobbi Dean of Winterset, Jackie McCuen of Colorado; sister, Karen Essex of Des Moines; 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jada Marie Williams; two brothers, Jack and Darrell McCuen, granddaughter, Heather Bane and grandson, Chance Bane.

The family and friends of Forrest McCuen who died September 4, 2017, are invited to a Memorial Service to remember his life Tuesday night, September 26, 2017, 6:30 p.m. at the New Bridge Church, 1205 West Jefferson in Winterset, Iowa.

A potluck Supper will be held following the time of remembrance.
