Obituary

Clarendon B. Eyer passed away at his home in Los Angeles, July 26, at the age of sixty-three years. Mr. Eyer will be remembered by the older residents of Winterset having attended high school here, and in 1888 was married to Cora Knowlton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knowlton and sister of Mrs. Kate Wray, the widow of Dr. Wray.

Twenty years ago he with his family moved from Chicago where he was practicing law to Beaumont, California, where he and two brothers-in-law, formed the Beaumont Land and Water Co., lifting a heavy mortgage on much of the town sight and surrounding acreage, sub-dividing and developing water for irregation. What at that time was a barren waste is today a beautiful fruit bearing valley-a monument to his untiring efforts. Later he moved to Los Angeles and there was largely interested in real estate activities.

Left to mourn his death is the widow, one daughter and two sons.
