RAYMOND KEITH NELSON, Truro, Ia

Raymond Keith Nelson, son of Bert William Nelson and Mabel Ann (Hamm) Nelson was born September 8, 1927 in Lorimor, Iowa and passed from this life Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Southern Hills Specialty Care at 89 years of age.

Raymond received his education in Truro High School graduating in 1945. Raymond served his country as a medical technician with the United States Army from 1946 to 1947 attaining the rank of TEC 5.

He was united in marriage to Louise Thomas on April 19, 1957 at Grand River United Methodist Church and two children, Keith and Brian blessed this union.

Raymond enjoyed the outdoors and loved his work as a lifetime farmer. He was a Charter Member of the Truro Lions Club, served as a Trustee for Ohio Township, and was a member of the Madison Chapel Church. Raymond also enjoyed tractors and had his fathers first tractor newly purchased just after Raymond left the service.

Those relatives who preceded Raymond in death were his parents; brother, Wayne Nelson, brother-in-law, Don Green; niece, Patricia Davidson; nephew, Mark Green; infant nephew, Rodney Lee Green,

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory; wife Louise Nelson, sons, Keith Nelson of Truro, IA, Brian (Shelley) Nelson of New Virginia, IA, daughter-in-law, Becky Nelson of Urbandale, IA; sister, Betty Ann Green of Osceola, IA; sister-in-law, Isabel Nelson of Truro, IA; grandchildren, Abbie (fiance', Greg Saxton) Nelson of Norwalk, IA, Alexis (Matt) Owens of Red Oak, IA, Sierra Nelson of New Virginia, IA, Jessica Nelson of Gainsville, FL, Chad Nelson of Truro, IA; great-grandchildren, Allie Owens and Dallas Owens, as well as other nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: August 31, 2017, Kale Funeral Home, Osceola. - 5 to 7 pm.
