Jake Ryner of Union township, returned from Des Moines Saturday, where he was called by the serious illness of his sister, Mrs. J. V. Carter. Mrs. Carter is in extremely poor health and no hopes are held out for her recovery. She is one of the early settlers in this county, and moved from Patterson a few years ago to make her home with her daughter.
