JUDITH KAY FENSTER, Liberty, Mo
Judith Kay Fenster passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19th in Liberty, Missouri following her courageous battle with ALS. She was 70 years old.
Judy was born on September 26, 1946 in Carroll, Iowa to her parents Jack and Opal Gaskill. She graduated from Irwin Community Schools in 1964. She married in the summer of 1964, and the marriage was blessed with three children, Tracy, Bobbie, and Chris.
Judy worked for the Principal Financial Group for 30 years in medical and life insurance claims before retiring in 2006. She then began career with the Kohl’s Department stores that lasted until her retirement in 2016.
Judy was very active in her church and took three mission trips to Haiti, Honduras, and, Hawaii. She also was very involved in the Baby Grace Ministry at her church. Judy thoroughly enjoyed watching her eight grandchildren: Cassie, Kelsey, Caleb, Tanner, Heather, Carson, Cade, and Colby grow up and play sports and activities. She also became an avid Kansas City Royals fan and was able to attend a World Series Game with her children in 2015.
Judy is survived by her three children, Tracy, Bobbie, and Chris, her mother, Opal, brother Lynn (Myrna), sister Kathy (Jerry), her beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Faubion United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 26, at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Baby Grace Ministry at Faubion UMC.
Special thank you to Good Shepherd Hospice and Liberty Health and Wellness Living for taking extraordinarily loving care of our mom. We also thank Pastor Steve Elkins for his many visits to mom during her illness and supporting us during this difficult time.
