William Joshua Wilson, son of Thomas and Alice Wilson, was born near Scottsburg, Ind., Nov. 30, 1874. He was the oldest in a family of ten children, six of whom survive him.

On Mar. 1, 1900, he was united in marriage to Florence Pettegrew at Bradford, Ill., and to this union were born four children: Mrs. Beulah Jackson of St. Louis, Mo., Paul Wilson of Stuart, Ia., Mrs. Pansy Marie Rasmuss, Omaha, Nebr., and Suzette Thomas of Guthrie Center, Ia.

Soon after marriage, he moved with his wife to Jefferson, Ia., where they lived seven years. In 1907, they moved to Macksburg, Ia. Where he was engaged in farming until they moved to Stuart in 1949.

Preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers, John and Artie and one sister, Mary.

Those surviving are his wife, four brothers, Howard and Guy of Lexington, Ind., Herbert of Scottsburg, Ind., Glenn of Lexington, Ind., two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Davis of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Mrs. Prudence Robbins of Lexington, Ind., his four children already mentioned, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wilson was a member of the church since early manhood, and was a loyal and faithful supporter of every good cause. He was a good neighbor, always ready to help anyone, and through the years, he made many friends wherever he lived.

He was especially a kind and good father and grandfather.

Services were conducted from the Stuart Methodist church, Jan. 10 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Hugh Williams conducting. Flower ladies were Grace Pote, Dorothy Johnston, Ruby Linn and Jessie Soults. Music was presented by Wilma Miller, organist and Harry Morrison, Jr., Bert Russell, John Daily and Wayne Lovely.

Interment was in the Stuart cemetery.

Casket bearers were Glen Wolfe, Francis Bonham, Elmer Eivins, Lloyd Ritter, Russell Garrett and Louis Jungst.
