Panama City Beach, FloridaJohn Marshall Creger, was born May 31, 1932, in Winterset to Mary Beatrice Schoenenberger and Fonda Winfred Creger. He died June 27, 2017. John grew up in Winterset and graduated from high school there in 1950. He attended the University of Iowa where he received his law degree. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He started his legal career as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Iowa. From there, he became a labor lawyer for Pillsbury in Minneapolis. He then went to work for Kraft Foods and for Coca-Cola. At Coke he was the international Vice President on Foreign Affairs. In his later years, John became a labor arbitrator in Missouri.
He loved gourmet cooking, playing classical guitar, the outdoors, building model ships, and figuring out how electronics worked.
The last year and a half of his life, he lived with his daughter Alisoun Ganoe in Panama City Beach, Fla. While there, he enjoyed the beach, good friends, and delicious food. John always made friends wherever he went and developed a lot of nicknames over the years from "Pops" to "Mr. Lovable."
John is survived by two daughters, Alisoun of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Holly of St. Paul, Minn.
