Glen Eugene Hubbard, 85, of Des Moines, died Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Calvin Community. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Westover Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
Glen is survived by his wife Mildred, son Bryan, step-mother Sally Hubbard, sister Elaine (Art) Ryan, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Bruce, Steve, Irene and Jeanne.
Glen was born on October 21, 1931, the son of Harley and Ila Herriot Hubbard. He was raised on the family century farm in Casey and graduated from Casey High School in 1949. Glen served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. On September 21, 1957, he married Mildred Minenga at the Early Chapel in Earlham. He worked for Grocery Wholesale, Forman & Ford, Lodge of Ashworth, and delivered flowers for Plaza Florist.
Glen loved traveling with the WBCCI Airstream Club, playing cards, gardening and doing yard work, and dancing with Mildred. Glen and Mildred were members of Westover Baptist Church for many years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Westover Baptist Church or Calvin Community.
