Dale M ͨ Donald, 79, of the Creston and Afton areas, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at his daughter's home in Winterset.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg . Rev. Jim Morris will officiate the service.
Burial will be at Moon Cemetery in rural Macksburg, Ia.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. service time on Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg . Memorials are directed to the family. Online condolences can be made at powersfh.com.
Dale Reed Mc ͨ Donald was born on February 8, 1938, in Afton, a son to Johnson Reed M ͨ Donald and Viva Leona (Leach) M ͨ Donald. He was educated in Afton and graduated from the Afton High School with the class of 1956. He attended Creston Jr. College and advanced through the welding program there. Dale worked at Anderson-Erickson's driving a milk route and also for Archway Cookie Sales serving the Southwest Iowa and Missouri areas.
Dale was a long-time resident of the Kansas City area where he worked management maintenance for hotels and also trailer parks. In 1999, he had a stroke and following that, he returned to the Creston and Afton areas.
Dale is survived by three daughters, Lana (husband Terry) Summers of Edgerton, Mo., Gale (husband Rick) Vert of Winterset and Wendy Martin of Independence, Mo.; three sons, Terry M ͨ Donald of Ferrelview, Mo., Shawn (wife Kori) M ͨ Donald of Omaha, Neb. and Jimmy M ͨ Donald of Ferrelview, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-children, James, Melissa and Emma; sister Ruby Dibel of Creston and sisters-in-law Beulah M ͨ Donald of Creston and Donna M ͨ Donald of Diagonal.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Laurie M ͨ Donald O'Connor, six brothers, Francis, LeRoy, LaVern, JR, Dean and Wayne, three sisters, Leona Kirkland, Eleanor Hammons and Bonnie Pulliam.
