Former Winterset Man Dies At His Home in Omaha of Dropsy
John Adkins, a former well-known citizen of Winterset, died in Omaha Friday evening of dropsy. He had been an invalid for several months.
Mr. Adkins left Winterset about 20 years ago. His wife was Miss Mattie McCarty. He was engaged in the life insurance business for the last twenty-five years. He lived in Des Moines until about five years ago when he moved to Omaha. His death was a sudden shock to his relatives here. His sister, Mrs. Anna Armstrong, went to Omaha Saturday evening to attend the funeral services which were held on Sunday.
