Page 7, Column 5Orilla Jane Koons was born in London, Ontario, Canada February 28, 1863. She moved with her parents to Stuart, Iowa when a small child.
She married Alexander M. Armstrong in April 1880. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1927. She had made her home in Stuart up to about two years ago when she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Gus B. Foltz at Red Lodge, Mon. She had been in the hospital about two months. Her age was 93 years, 9 months and six days.
Those surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Gus B. Foltz of Red Lodge, Mon., Mrs. C. L. McCollum of Orange, Calif., Mrs. Walter Chase of Stuart, Orilla B. Armstrong of Kansas City, two sons, Harry Armstrong of Fort Worth, Tex., and Henry Armstrong of Fort Dodge. One sister, Mary Bantz of Los Angeles and a brother, Cecil Koons of Des Moines, eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Bufkin Funeral Home, Saturday, Dec. 3 with Rev. Hugh Williams officiating. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Hobart Newton and Mrs. Meryl Herriott. Casketbearers were Noel Moore, John Burg, Dan Hill, Albert Armstrong, John Armstrong and Paul Armstrong. Interment was in North Oak Grove cemetery at Stuart.
