Robert Woodward, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Woodward of South township, died last Thursday, April 7th, at the age of ten years. The boy took sick about two weeks ago with the measles, and pneumonia developed, and caused his death. He was born in Des Moines, April 30th, 1916, but for the past six years has been making his home in the Patterson neighborhood. He attended the Patterson schools, and was one of the brightest students in the 5th grade.

Funeral services were conducted at the home, Saturday morning, at 10 o’clock, by Rev. Orlie De Vine of Des Moines. The boys of the 7th and 8th grade of the Patterson school were pall bearers. Burial was made in the Pine Hill cemetery, west of Des Moines. Robert was the only children of Mr. and Mrs. Woodward, and is survived by his parents, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Reynolds of Winterset, and Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Woodward of Adel, and several aunts and uncles.

The people from out-of-town who attended the funeral were Loyd Chapman, Mrs. Ralph Palmer, and Miss De Vine, all of Des Moines.
