1929 - 2017

H. D. "Doc" Gamble, 87, passed away April 15, 2017 at Kavanagh on 56th Street.

Doc was born September 29, 1929 in Winterset, Iowa to Russell and Vera (Mapes) Gamble. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Doc worked as a glazier for many years. He was a member of Park Avenue Presbyterian Church and Local Union 1075.

Doc is survived by his daughters, Terri (Greg) Hendricks and Linda Treanor; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister; a brother; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ann; and a sister.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Doc will be laid to rest with military honors at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
