February 23, 1929 - March 4, 2017Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Greenwood, 88, of Winterset died Saturday, March 4, 2017.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 6, at Ochiltree Funeral Service where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m..
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, at Ochiltree’s with burial to follow in the North McDonald Cemetery.

Elizabeth G. Kellogg was born February 23, 1929, on the family farm in Scott Township, Madison County, Iowa to Sylvester Franklin and Marjorie Lillian (Keller) Kellogg. She grew up in Madison County and graduated from Winterset High School in 1947. Her marriage to James M. Greenwood took place on December 30, 1949 in Winterset and to this union four sons were born. James preceded her in death on June 14, 1978.
During her working years, she was employed as a cook preparing meals for the Greek System at Iowa State as well as having worked for Hy-Vee and the Story County Meal Site all in Ames. She has also worked as a cook with the Madison County Home in Winterset.
In her youth, Beth was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and attended the First Baptist Church in Winterset.
Beth loved to travel. She was not one to join organizations but rather enjoyed time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising her sons to be good men of whom she was very proud.
She is survived by three son, James ‘Skip’ Greenwood of Winterset, Kris (Linda) Greenwood of Ankeny, Kurt (Lori) Greenwood of Coalville, UT; a brother Bruce Kellogg of Ames, 2 grandchildren, Kyle (Megan) Greenwood and Haley Greenwood; 3 great grandchildren, Sophia Hughes, and Anna and Kurt Greenwood; extended family and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son and daughter-in-law, Kerry (Charleen) Greenwood; a granddaughter, Elise Elizabeth Greenwood; a sister, Edmonia ‘Billie’ Leonard and brother, Miles Kellogg.
