Cecil Jeffs, the 26 year old son of Mrs. Francis Jeffs of Barney, died in a Des Moines hospital Sunday afternoon. While taking care of some colts January 15th, he was kicked in the side. The next morning he became very ill and was taken to Des Moines for an operation, which disclosed a burst appendix.

He is survived by his mother; five sisters, Mrs. Delia Jeffs of Lorimor, Mrs. Lulu Wallace and Mrs. Ethel Wallace of Webster county, Mrs. Leota Ackelson of Barney and Ruby at home; four brothers, Everett, Charles, Ernest and Clarence, who are at home. Funeral services were held at the Barney church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.
