Ted Douglas Tritsch

Ted Douglas Tritsch, 63, of Earlham, Iowa passed away, January 20, 2017 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Earlham Community Building. At the visitation there will be a time for sharing your favorite memory of Ted. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ted Tritsch Memorial Fund. (Professional Arrangements: Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Earlham Chapel).

Ted was born October 1, 1953 in Clarinda, Iowa to Delbert Carl Tritsch and Yvonne Marie (Michel) Tritsch Meskimen. Ted was raised in Clarinda and graduated from Clarinda High School with the class of 1972. Following high school, Ted moved to Des Moines and enrolled at Des Moines Area Community College where he received his degree in Diesel Mechanics.

Ted was united in marriage to Roben Merical on June 3, 1973 in Earlham, Iowa. To this union two daughters were born, Amanda Rae and Ashlee Marie.

After their marriage they made their home in Earlham and Ted went to work for Ziegler Caterpillar in Des Moines as a Mechanic. He was a dedicated employee of Zeigler’s for 42 years and was looking forward to retiring in three years. Ted was a past member of the Jaycee’s in Earlham and was a past Earlham Fire Department Volunteer. Ted was very much a family man and enjoyed spending his free time with his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, watching ballgames, boating, hanging out with his friends and a nice ride on his motorcycle especially the new Harley Davidson he recently purchased for himself. Ted will certainly be remembered for his unforgettable laugh.

Ted was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Tritsch; mother, Yvonne Meskimen; step-father, Leland Meskimen; brother, Gregory Lee Meskimen and one infant sister.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved daughters, Amanda (Curtis) Little of Dexter and Ashlee Mumford of Earlham; grandchildren, Skylar Michel Pruitt, Dylan Russell Little, Collin Eugene Mumford, Conner Douglas Mumford and Gabby Elizabeth Little; siblings, Tim (Pam) Tritsch of Richland, Michigan, Terry (Leslie) Tritsch of Pontiac, Mississippi, Mark (Pat) Meskimen of Newark, Arkansas, Kurt (Carol) Meskimen of Cave City, Arkansas and Kristi (Chuck) Thompson of Batesville, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Donna Meskimen of Olive Branch, Mississippi and several nieces, nephew and friends all of whom will miss him greatly.
