Mrs. Charles Brooks Dies Near Lorimor

82-Year Old Woman Passes at Home of Daughter on May 2

Mrs. Charles A. Brooks died on Tuesday of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alf Simmerman, northeast of Lorimor. She was 82 years of age.

Mrs. Brooks was the former Sarah Elizabeth Coleman, daughter of Samuel and Louise Coleman, and was born in Delaware county on Aug. 9, 1861.

She was married to Charles A. Brooks in 1881 at Homer, Ia. They were the parents of eight children. Her husband and four of the children preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, W. M. Brooks of Omaha, and John Brooks of Tekoa, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Simmerman of Lorimor and Mrs. Daisy Bardrick of Winterset; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted last Friday from the Watts funeral home in Lorimor by the Rev. Marguerite Shepard.
