Rose M. Binns Deo, 82, of Winterset, Iowa, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her residence in rural Winterset. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 19, 2017, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Eric Schubert officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.
Rose was born on May 14, 1934, in Cass County, Iowa to John and Luvena (Secoy) Knapp, Sr.. She was raised in Stuart, Iowa and graduated from Stuart High School in 1952. On August 20, 1952 she married Carl W. Binns at Stuart.
She had lived on the family farm for many years and had farmed with her husband, Carl. She was also a homemaker. Rose had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Greenfield.
Rose is survived by her son, Randall (Robyn) Binns of Crescent; daughters, Ginger (Jeff) Capps of Winterset and Suzanne (Mark) Klemm of Winterset; sisters, Helen Harvey of Bettendorf and Luvenna Bennett of Redfield; grandchildren, Matt, Brent, Dylan, Lance, and Rachel; great grandchildren, Rose, Karleigh, and Addisyn; and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Luvena (Secoy) Knapp, Sr.; husbands, Carl Binns and Derwyn A. Deo; brothers, Warren Ratliff and John E. Knapp; and brothers-in-law, William Harvey and Howard Bennett.
Family will greet friends 1 hour before service time on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to her family for a future designation.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
