Page 12Perl C., son of F. M. and Mary J. Jordan, was born May 16, 1881, near Fisher, Champaign Co., Ill., and died at his home in Union township, Madison county, Iowa, October 16, 1900, being nineteen years and five months old.
He was never very strong, la grippe terminated in quick consumption and after being prostrated by frequent hemorrhages of the lungs, never regained strength, suffering beyond our ability to describe, passed peacefully to the beyond. Perl was truly a young man of noble purpose and unblemished character, was a man in judgment from childhood. He was preparing himself for a teacher but when he saw that he could not get well, he never complained, was patient and resigned, made such suggestions as he desired about his funeral and selected his pall bearers. He often begged the good Lord to take him home. We mourn not without hope. His form was laid to rest in the Baptist cemetery near Winterset, Iowa.
